As far as the genre goes, all of ten people who watched the scene understood that it was a social realism film based on real life drama. Around half of the people said that they understood the narrative of the scene, but all of them understood that the protagonist, Lex, was running away from the boy for some reason - we are not suppose to know the reasons for this at this point in the film, so this is not something worrying. As for the main protagonist, all except one approved of our choice of actress, saying that she was very good at capturing the role as well as looking the part. One said that perhaps more emotion was needed. 8 out of 10 also said that they would like to watch the rest of the film because they would want to find out what has happened to cause this and where Lex goes after she leaves the house. The two who did not want to watch it either felt that it didn't seem as if anything interesting would happen next, or the genre did not appeal to them. The main problem people picked out seemed to be the acting ability of the actor playing Kieran . However, hopefully he will seem more threatening after we have edited in some flash backs of him acting more aggressively. Alot of the words we got back to describe it were also 'tense' or 'realistic.'
Overall, we think that the answers to these questionnaires were encouraging, although both actors may not both be brilliant, they are both competent and everyone seemed to really like Sarah, playing the main character. I think it will also be easier for the audience to identify with the male character once the extra scenes have been edited in, and some of the slightly longer shots have been cut down to make it easier to watch as a whole sequence.
